3 Ways for Women to Stop Balding
30th May 2015
Last week, we addressed how men could stop balding. But women can experience balding at almost any age as well, and for any reason. Here are 3 additional steps women can take to stop balding, either prematurely or in late stage hair loss.
1. Get a doctor's diagnosis. If you are in the beginning stages of hair loss, it's important to visit a doctor and determine why your hair is thinning out. Hair loss could be genetic, such as female-patterned hair loss, or the result of a new stressor in your life, such as childbirth or a traumatic accident. Signs of hair loss can also be a sign for a more serious problem, such as polycystic ovary syndrome, which can cause infertility and irregular menstruation. By visiting the doctor, he or she can help you determine what to change to stop thinning.
2. Change your hair style and care. If you are prone to using tight hair styles, such as a tight, high ponytail or cornrows, you might be seeing hair loss from the continuous stress on the follicles. In addition, some people find their scalp sensitive to various shampoos, hair dyes, and other hair products. Changing your hair style and products can help reduce the chances of hair loss or thinning over time.
3. Use minoxidil. Minoxdil has been proven time and again to stop the loss of hair for both women and men. A 2% minoxidil solution is perfect for women, as it helps prolong the growth stage of hair while inhibiting DHT blockers (which causes hair loss for female-patterned baldness). Xandrox's special formula, which includes apple polyphenol and niacin, also helps the hair grow in thicker and healthier.
